What is Power Jam™?
Power Jam Dance Fitness™ combines familiar, popular, world music with athletically charged dance routines to suit all levels. Participants will forget that they are burning MORE calories and building lean muscle mass.
How was Power Jam™ born?
When dance fitness classes first became popular, we, the founders of this company, found that although such classes were a lot of fun, they were not the cardio workout they claimed to be. When we started teaching them at In Motion Fitness, we found that we had to speed up the music and limit the dances to the higher calorie burning ones companies provided in order to give participants the workout they came to get. We, like many of you, spent countless hours on line searching for routines to fill in the gap that other dances fitness programs left, in order to give our classes what other programs lacked, only to end up creating our own routines. Cindy Stuart, having taught hard core classes such as kickboxing for over a decade, was given the task of creating a new dance fitness class, that was to incorporate more athletic moves. At that time, we found that many people were also growing tired of classes that were mostly one type of music by unfamiliar artists. Members wanted to hear something more familiar so that they too could anticipate the transitions as well as the instructors did. We see this trend with many such classes now. However, instructors are limited by the guidelines of the trademarked name they are using. Instructors may now uncap their limits!
What are the guidelines for an instructor who teachers a Power Jam™ class?
Listen to your members! We hope to provide you with a wide selection of routines to choose from that incorporate calorie burning athletic moves. But we also encourage you to use your classes’ favorites too, and to share the great routines you have created with the Power Jam™ family of instructors. Every gym has classes that cater to different populations. We hope to give you enough routines, so that you may give your members more of what they are asking for while being aware of any physical limitations they may have.
How do I know if I should offer Power Jam™ classes at my gym?
